Privacy and cookie policy — Rousseau 5

Welcome to rousseau5.ch, the website of Rousseau 5, an estate agency in Geneva. Protecting your personal data matters to us. This policy tells you, in concrete terms, what we collect, what we do with it, who has access to it and what your rights are — in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP, in force since 1 September 2023).

1. Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is Rousseau 5, Route de Chêne 61A, 1208 Geneva, Switzerland. For any question about your data: contact@rousseau5.ch.

2. What personal data we collect

We collect only what you choose to send us by filling in one of the site’s forms: a contact request, a valuation, a viewing, a new-development brochure, an off-market search, a financing review, a listing audit, or registration for advance previews. Depending on the form, this means your identity, your contact details (email, phone) and the outline of your property project — a property’s address, type, surface area, your budget, the communes you are searching in.

Simply browsing the site involves no collection of personal data on our part.

3. How we use your data

Your data is used solely to handle your request: replying to you, arranging a viewing or a valuation, and — if you have asked for it — letting you know about properties matching your search. We do not use it for advertising profiling.

4. Who has access to your data

We never sell, rent out or pass on your data. To handle your request, it is shared with three recipients, and with them alone:

• Our team, by email to the agency, so that a broker can reply to you.
• Our management software (Apimo), where your request is recorded for follow-up — it is the agency’s working tool.
• Our hosting provider (Infomaniak, Geneva), which stores the site and its technical logs in Switzerland.

Your data is not transferred outside Switzerland or the European Union, except where the law requires it.

One particular case: the “listing audit” tool lets you submit the web address of a property listing that has already been published. The text of that public listing is then analysed by an artificial-intelligence service (Anthropic). No personal data about you is sent to it — only the content of the listing.

5. Retention and security

The forms’ technical logs are deleted automatically after 90 days. In our management software, your request is kept for as long as your project needs following, then archived in line with our legal obligations. The site is served exclusively over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and access to your data is limited to the people who need it to reply to you.

6. Your rights

You may at any time ask to access your data, have it corrected or erased, restrict its processing, or object to its use. Simply write to contact@rousseau5.ch; we reply within thirty days. You may also refer the matter to the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).

7. Cookies and trackers

This site sets no tracking, analytics or advertising cookies. It uses no Google Analytics, no social-media pixels, and no fonts loaded from third-party servers. That is why you see no consent banner here: there is nothing to consent to.

Only two technical elements exist, and neither serves to identify you: a WordPress session cookie, strictly necessary for the site to work, and — if you use the mortgage calculator — local storage in your own browser so you are not asked for your figures again. You can clear it at any time in your browser settings.

Some links lead to third-party services — WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Instagram, Google Maps for directions. These services are only called upon when you click, and their own privacy policies then apply.

8. Changes to this policy

We update this policy whenever our practices or the law change. The date of the last update appears below; we invite you to check it regularly.
